An advent calendar box turns a product range into a countdown, and a set of samples into a premium seasonal product. The design shown was made as a 12 days of Christmas calendar for coffee and tea: a mailer-style outer box that opens to reveal twelve individual inner boxes, one for each day.
Fully customisable
Every calendar is designed around the products it will hold. The number of days, the size of each compartment, the outer box and the print are all specified to your brief, so the same approach works for:
- coffee and tea
- cosmetics and skincare
- drinks, from miniature spirits to liqueurs
- premium chocolates and sweets
- small gifts and branded merchandise
How it is built
The outer box presents and protects the set. A hinged-lid mailer style gives a clean box when closed and a full reveal when opened, and it carries the main artwork.
The inner boxes hold each day’s product. Each one is sized to its contents, can carry its own day number and artwork, and a larger box can be designed in for a final-day reveal.
Other constructions, such as a single die-cut insert with a perforated door over each compartment, can be designed where they suit the product better.
Print and finish
We print up to two colours flexographic in-house, which suits a natural kraft calendar with brand colours and day numbers. For full-colour artwork and premium unboxing, digital print, up to four-colour flexo and litho-lamination are available through our print partners. Methods can be combined to put the budget where the customer sees it first.
Planning a calendar
Calendars have a fixed selling window, so design, sample approval, print and filling all need to happen well ahead of it. Every design is sampled for approval before production, and lead times are confirmed with the quotation. If food will touch the board directly rather than sitting in its own wrapping, tell us at the brief stage.
